The fight for mayor in a small town election gets out of hand when a murder takes place. Gene takes matters into his own hands as he fights for a decent community.
Detailed Synopsis:
Gene Autry is sheriff of a frontier town in the midst of a bitter local election. The candidates are Mary Sanders, a remarkably capable woman of fifty-two, and Thatcher Bowden, an intelligent, but ruthless man of thirty-five. Mary's stoutest campaigners are Deputy Sheriff Pat Buttram and a harmonica playing young boy named Eddie. A professional gunman, a cold-blooded murder, and a kidnapping set the stage when Gene goes into action to fight for a clean and decent community.
